Brian El Dorado
Brian El Dorado is a Melbourne-based artist with over thirty years of performance and recording experience.
El Dorado's musical tastes are diverse, as evident in his band's six previous albums and two EPs. His band, The Tuesday People, are an eclectic group of accomplished and virtuoso jazz, blues and rock musicians — their sound spanning everything from:
Album #7: Songs from the Stairwell
Songs From The Stairwell is primarily a solo record that also encompasses further collaboration with acclaimed producer/musician Andy Baldwin. Almost all instruments are played by Brian, with orchestral strings played by Andy and drumming on some songs by Sean Newell.
The title refers mainly to most of the album's recording taking place within an internal stairwell in an old Melbourne Fire Station in late 2025. The recording took place whilst on annual leave from the service, with producer Andy Baldwin (The Cat Empire, Paul Kelly, Dark Bardo) at the helm — Baldwin also produced the band's last two albums.
"Recording an album in a stairwell with Andy seemed like a good idea. I was doing most of my singing there on my downtime whilst on shift and it was a comfortable space for me to sing in with incredible natural reverb."
— Brian Easteal
Brian El Dorado and The Tuesday People formed in 2015 in Melbourne, Australia. They released their first album, Eclectric, in 2016, followed by Wildfire (2017), Unofficial After Party (2019), and Let The Blood Run Free (2021). In 2022, they released two 7-inch vinyl singles through Choi Records — the brainchild of Cooking On 3 Burners drummer, Ivan 'Choi' Khatchoyan. In 2025 they released 2.22, the first of two albums recorded and mixed during 2024/25.
The band have performed extensively around Melbourne since 2015, including multiple festival performances and a Rural Victorian / East Coast Tour in 2018.

Pulling on the Rockdogs guernsey
When he isn't behind the microphone, Brian laces the boots for the Rockdogs — the musicians' side in Melbourne's beloved Reclink Community Cup. Born in 1993 as a scrappy fundraiser between local muso's and community-radio staff, the Cup has grown into one of the city's great winter institutions: an Australian-rules charity match between the Rockdogs (musicians) and the Megahertz (the on-air crew from Triple R and PBS FM), wrapped inside a full day of live bands at Victoria Park in Abbotsford.
Brian is no blow-in to the contest. He has pulled on the guernsey five times for the Rockdogs and led the side as captain on one of those occasions — out in the red, black and gold beside some of Naarm's best-known players, kicking it for a cause.
Every dollar raised on the day goes to Reclink Australia, which uses sport and the arts to support people facing homelessness, mental ill-health and social isolation. The match now draws crowds north of 12,000 and brings in around a quarter of a million dollars each year — proof that a footy field full of musicians can do a lot more than make noise.
